Graduate Student Events

The AAAL Annual Conference hosts three events specifically geared towards graduate students. On Friday, March 27, there will be graduate student networking from 8:00 to 10:00 pm. On Saturday, March 28, the AAAL Graduate Student Council (GSC) will host a graduate student lunch event from 12:00pm to 1:00pm,  "Balancing the Holistic Experience of Being a Graduate Student". On Monday, March 30, from 7:35pm to 10:00pm GSC will host an evening workshop with dessert "Developing Strategies for Publishing and Interviewing Along the Way to the Job Market."

Newcomers' Orientation

The Newcomers' Orientation provides new conference attendees the opportunity to network with other first-time attendees and to learn about the different aspects of the AAAL Annual Conference. In 2020, the Newcomers' Orientation will be offered on Friday, March 27 at 5:30 pm as well as on Saturday, March 28 at 12:00 pm.

Sobremesa Reception

The Sobremesa Reception provides a space where community members, graduate students, and faculty from minoritized and underrepresented groups can socialize and build supportive networks within AAAL. The 2020 Sobremesa Reception will take place on Saturday, March 28 at 6:30 pm. 

AAAL 2020 Mile High Fun Run

On Sunday, March 29th at 6:45 am, get an energizing start to your day and come join us for a 3 mile social run/walk along the beautiful Cherry Creek Trail in Downtown Denver!

Meeting Location: Sheraton Downtown Denver Hotel Lobby, near Sheraton's gym first floor.
