Nominating Committee Member

Criteria for this position (see Standing Rule 8: Nominations and Elections) include the following:
Being a member of the Nominating Committee involves a significant level of responsibility, and all candidates are expected to (a) have a broad understanding of the field and its constituencies; (b) have provided some prior service to the Association; and (c) be representative of the AAAL membership both demographically (i.e., geographical location, home institution) and professionally (i.e., area(s) of specialization and expertise). The term of service is one year, from July-June annually starting the year of election, with most activities concentrated in the Fall preceding the Conference. Note: at least one candidate for nomination to the Nominating Committee must have previously served on the AAAL Executive Committee.
About the Nominating Committee
Nominating Committee members prepare a slate consisting of one nominee each for the positions of Second Vice President, Member-at-Large and FFAL Trustee; as needed, one nominee for Secretary, Treasurer, or JEDI Officer; eight nominees for the Nominating Committee; and, two nominees per open position on the Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Dissertation Award Committee, Book/First Book Award Committee, Research Article Award Committee, and Distinguished Public Service Award Committee.
