Professional Bio
As a plurilingual immigrant of colour who speaks English and French as L2s, I've always been interested in the intersection of language, culture, and identity within (and beyond) educational contexts. I’m an applied linguist by training who has been professionally working since 2016 as an ESL teacher, curriculum designer, pedagogical materials developer, and project consultant. As an academic, my research interests include plurilingualism, plurilingual and pluricultural pedagogy, mixed methods research, classroom research, and language policy and planning, and I have had experiences working as a research assistant in projects involving ESL and FSL learners and teachers. I’m currently a Ph.D. student in Educational Studies, with a focus on Language Acquisition, and I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, and an undergraduate honours degree in Anthropology.
