Ben is originally from Victoria, Canada and has been involved in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) since 2002, primarily as a teacher, teacher trainer, and material developer. Currently, Ben is completing his PhD in Applied Linguistics at the University of Pittsburgh. The aim of Ben’s research is to bridge the gap between academics and practitioners in this field to promote evidence-based practices. To this end, Ben’s research interests relate to the lexical development of adult EFL learners, teacher pedagogy, second language acquisition, and learner corpora.
