Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) statement

Examples include efforts to: recenter typically marginalized groups, create opportunities for advancing the interests of underserved segments of the AAAL membership, demonstrate respect for diversity of underrepresented identity categories among AAAL members, demonstrate respect for epistemological and methodological differences, create practices that make all members of a community feel validated and welcome, and/or design systems for greater and more equitable access to human and material resources and to professional development. The Nominating Committee values candidates’ own diversity with respect to a variety of identity categories as well as specific expertise they may hold (anti-racism, Indigenous justice, disability justice, Global South theories, etc.).
