Members Only - Must be signed in to register.

The Fall 2026 Professional Development Workshop will provide information and strategies for research mentors supporting novice scholars to learn how to do research data analysis. Both mentors and mentees will benefit from hearing about challenges, supports, and strategies for mentoring novice researchers into practices and processes of research data analysis.

Speakers will be Dr. Luke Plonsky (Northern Arizona University) and Dr. Bedrettin Yazan (The University of Texas at San Antonio).

Following the speaker presentations, there will be a Question & Answer Session with the speakers, a Breakout Session for attendees to discuss this topic with other AAAL members, and a Going Forward Session to discuss the implications of this workshop for our work as mentors and scholars in applied linguistics.
