Criteria for this position (see Standing Rule 8: Nominations and Elections) include the following:
Candidates are expected to have prior leadership experience in the Association, and experience of financial administration and/or investment oversight. The Treasurer oversees the cash flow, investments, and overall financial status of the Association; works closely with the business office; presides over meetings of the Budget Committee; and serves as an ex-officio voting member of the FFAL Trustees. The Treasurer serves a term of four years and may succeed themselves in the same role for no more than one additional term. The treasurer is a member of the Executive Committee.
