Translation and Interpretation (TRI)

This strand features presentations that examine the cognitive, linguistic, social, and pedagogical underpinnings of the translation and interpretation (T&I) field. Proposals may include any aspect of applied linguistics as it pertains to translation and/or interpretation. For example, proposals may focus on the discourse and textual analysis of translations or interpreted interactions, the cognitive processes involved, the use of corpora in T&I, assessment issues, sociolinguistic issues and ethics related to provision of T&I services, terminological acquisition, skill development, the use of technology in T&I, and the pedagogical training of translators and interpreters.
