Reading, Writing, and Literacy (RWL)

This strand features presentations that examine issues relating to first-language, second-language, and multilingual readers, writers, texts, teachers, policies, and practices related to reading, writing, and literacy. Proposals may include any aspect of applied linguistics as it pertains to reading, writing, and/or literacy. Therefore, possible topics could include (but are not limited to) reading development, writing development, child or adult literacy, identity, voice, first- or second-language pedagogy, textual analysis, on-line literacy, cognitive approaches to RWL, sociocultural perspectives, effects of language policy, and changing literacy practices.
