The Department of Applied Linguistics at Portland State University will be holding a reception on Sunday, March 19th (6:30-9:00) to welcome conference attendees to Portland and give a little insight into the applied linguistics being done at Portland State.
The reception will be in our department which is not large (as some of you may remember from AAAL 2014) so we need to limit attendance to 200 people. We will have a sign up sheet and tickets (the tickets are free) for interested attendees at the registration desk. If you are interested in attending, just ask for a ticket at the registration desk.
We will provide appetizers; a selection of local beers, wines, and soft drinks will be available for purchase.
The Department of Applied Linguistics offices are located on the 3rd floor, suite 335 of the University Center Building. That is at 527 SW Hall Street, the corner of SW Hall and SW 6th Avenue. This is a little more than a half mile (1 km) from the conference hotel.
Some Portlanders will be available to escort folks up to the university leaving from the lobby of the Marriot around 6:20.
