The third international Psychology of Language Learning conference (PLL3) will be held at Waseda University, Tokyo, June 7-10, 2018, based on the theme “Stretching Boundaries.” We are interested in receiving proposals on a wide range of topics relating to the psychology of language learning, including:

-language learners as people and their various individual characteristics, including self-concept, motivation, identities, beliefs, agency, and emotions
-the dynamics of the learning process and interaction with others
-context and the psychology of language learning
-innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to research
-practical classroom applications

Submissions Open: September 1, 2017 Deadline: December 11, 2017

We welcome proposals from researchers and educators working in all contexts. We particularly encourage submissions from graduate students and early career researchers and educators. PLL3 will be an ideal venue for presenting research in progress and also practical applications of theoretical concepts.

Types of presentations:
● paper ● poster ● work in progress
● symposium (thematically related papers with discussion)

Language policy: The working language of the conference is English. If a presentation is based on data in any other language, use of multilingual material (e.g. in PowerPoint slides, handouts) is recommended.

All proposals will be evaluated anonymously by the PLL Scientific Committee and the PLL3 Review Board, and they will be evaluated for their contribution to the field quality of content, thematic relevance, quality of abstract (organization, clarity of expression).
