CLyLT Summer School in Chania, Crete
The CLyLT Summer School is organized by the Faculty of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the largest university in the Balkans. The Summer School is run by experienced members of the Faculty of English who have linguistic and pedagogical expertise as well as extensive experience in foreign language education and pedagogy. The Summer School will take place in Chania, Crete and it will offer three separate courses: (a) a course on CLIL methodology, (b) another one on Technology in Education, and (c) a third one on Early Foreign Language learning. All courses are going to be taught in English by a team of experienced teacher trainers with expertise in the areas of teaching methodology, early language education and digital media. All training materials used in the courses have been previously implemented and tested within the classroom context.
The courses address primary and secondary school teachers who are interested in expanding their knowledge on contemporary teaching methodologies, such as CLIL, innovative approaches to the integration of Technology in Education as well as Early Foreign Language Learning.
Courses will consist of 20-40 contact hours and two to four afternoon workshops, where trainees will have the chance to put into practice the techniques and methods presented and discussed during the morning sessions. Classes will be held on weekdays whereas during the weekends and afternoons trainees will be free. A series of cultural events, trips to well known archaeological sites and museums will be organized. Trainees will also have the chance to enjoy some of the world’s most famous touristic attractions.
