Solidarity Awards for Travel to 2004
Annual Conference
AAAL has made available for travel to the 2004 Conference
in Portland, Oregon, 3 travel awards in the amount of $1,000 U.S. each.
Each award also carries a waiver of the conference registration fee.
These awards are for scholars participating in the conference program from
parts of the world where economies make it inordinately difficult if not
prohibitive for them to travel to the conference.
The criteria for application are as follows:
- The individual must appear on the program either as a paper or poster author or co-author, as colloquium organizer or co-organizer or as a colloquium discussant.
- The individual1s home academic institution must be in a part of the world where general economic circumstances would normally be an obstacle for travel to international learned conferences.
- Letter of application must be received by January 5, 2004. Awards will be announced in the early part of February 2004. The letter should be sent either as an e-mail attachment, by fax or regular mail to James P. - Preference will be assigned to applications as follows: first-time presenters who are authors or co-authors of papers; colloquium organizers; poster presenters.
